Apple Set to Announce the iPhone 6c in Mid February 2016?

Rumors have been strong that Apple is setting itself up to enter the sub 4-inch smartphone category once again. If you remember, till the launch of the iPhone 6, Apple had cited that 4 inches is pretty much the maximum size a smartphone display should be so that the top most portion of the screen can be accessed even when using the phone one-handed. However, they did give into the modern trend of having large display devices when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were announced with 4.7 and 5-inch displays respectively.

Now for those who still want a smaller iPhone, the only option currently is to go back and buy the iPhone 5s which is almost a 2-year-old product now. And precisely to cater this, Apple is expected to announce a variant of the iPhone 6, possibly called the iPhone 6c which will be an iPhone 5c successor, in the sense it will be a budget device. The phone is expected to come in a metallic frame and not the polycarbonate body like the 5c and is rumored to feature a 4-inch screen. This definitely raises doubts, whether Apple will indeed call it iPhone 6c or not.

The catch here is that, while the phone will bring the Touch ID just like that of iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, Apple will cut the corners by not including the 3D Touch on the phone. The phone is expected to go into the market as early as February in 2016. This prediction is based on a report published on _TechWeb _based on their sources from inside Foxconn. Either way, if the news of a February launch is true then the productions would be ramped up around the end of the year, and we definitely should have more substantial leaks around the device, well before Tim Cook takes the stage next year to talk about the phone.
