Google Nexus 5X & 6P Launched in India: Specs and Price

The tech giant, Google Inc. today debuted the new Nexus series of smartphones in India. In an event held in New Delhi, India it showcased two top notch smartphones of the year – the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. The magnificent launch was accompanied by lots of exciting offers with the pre-booking of the two phones. In the following section we’ll be talking about the overview of the Nexus 5X and 6P. A First Impressions and review post is expected to follow soon.

Huawei Google Nexus 6P

The Google Nexus 6P sports a 5.7-inch AMOLED Display with QHD (1440 x 2560p) resolution and a 12.3MP rear camera (as seen on the Nexus 5X too) with a 1.55 micron sensor, enabling it to capture more light, accompanied by a dual-LED Flash. The camera can also capture 4K videos and slo-mo videos at 240 frames per second (fps). The front camera is an 8MP shooter with resolution still unknown. The 6P also has laser autofocus, as seen on LG G series earlier, which provides better and faster autofocus. The device also has front facing stereo speakers, which perform really good, even in a room with loud sounds all around. The body of the Nexus 6P is fully metallic, with a textured power button for better grip and feel. The camera bump looks a bit awkward, but it surely doesn’t become a problem while using the device. The device packs a 3,450 mAh battery, along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Processor with 3GB RAM with storage options of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, as usual, without an option for SD Card. The new Nexus 6P also supports all 4G bands, and is ready to use on any carrier in India out of the box.

Google is also offering a few things like a Free Chromecast device, or Logitech Bluetooth speakers worth Rs. 29992499, along with Attractive EMI Offers on all major credit cards and Airtel 4G “Double data for 6 months”, only if you prebook the device – which starts tomorrow, i.e. 14th October 2015, and the devices will start shipping by 21st October. The prices for the Nexus 6P 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants are Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 42,999 for the first two respectively, with no word on the price for 128GB as yet.

LG Google Nexus 5X

Unlike the partnership with Huawei for the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X has been manufactured by LG. Google has made the 5X available in India for a price tag of Rs. 31,990 for the 16GB version and Rs. 35,990 for the 32GB version. As announced, pre-booking will start today, i.e. October 13th 2015, and the phone will be available starting October 21st. The 16GB version of the all new Nexus 5X will be available exclusively on

The Nexus 5X runs on the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, clocked at 1.8GHz, with an Adreno 418 GPU. It also has a 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. On the top, we get a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. As usual, we do not get an option for extending the storage, i.e. SD Card. The 5X sports a 12.3 MP primary camera with a 1.55 micron sensor and is backed by laser autofocus for relatively faster autofocus, while the front camera on the five-inched phone is too a 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The device can also capture slo-mo videos at 140fps. The phone will come with Smart Burst, which captures photos at 30 fps, and can surely be used to create GIF Images. At last, the phone has a 2,700 mAh battery, which can easily run for more than 24 hours, thanks to the Doze feature of Android Marshmallow. The phones also sport a fingerprint sensor at the back, called the Nexus Imprint, capable of unlocking the phone within 0.5 seconds.

The 5X will be available in Charcoal Black, Quartz White and Ice Blue colour options, starting 21 October, on as well as local stores such as The Mobile Store and Vijay Sales.
