Yu Announces their Third Smartphone in the form of Yu Yunique with LTE at Rs 4,999

Yu Televentures, the sister company of Micromax India announced their third smartphone in the Indian market with the Yu Yunique. Keeping up with the tradition of naming the phones with the first two letters in the name as the same as the brand name that is, ‘Yu’, we were least surprised at the choice of the name that Yu went ahead with.

The phone is one of the most affordable LTE devices that are available in the country, packing in the latest connectivity option at a miserly price of Rs 4,999. The Yu Yunique will be sold exclusively on Snapdeal in a flash sale model. This is an interesting move because so far the two other Yu devices, the Yu Yureka and Yu Yuphoria were both exclusive to Amazon. On Snapdeal the device will be on sale for those who have registered for the phone on September 15th. You will have up to September 14th 8 PM to register for the phone.

In terms of specifications the Yunique will come with a 4.7 inch, IPS, 720 P display which has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC with Adreno 306 GPU. The RAM on board is 1 GB while you will get 8 GB of internal memory. Not just this, you can expand the storage on the device with a micro SD slot. The rear camera is an 8 MP sensor while the front facing camera is a 2 MP unit. Compared to the other devices from Yu including the Yu Yureka and Yu Yuphoria, the Yu Yunique is probably the most modestly spec’d phone yet. It is worth mentioning that while the rear camera is an auto focus camera, the front camera is a fixed focus camera. Just like every other Yu device, the Yunique also runs CyanogenMod OS out of the box. To be exact, you have CM 12.1 out on the phone which is based on Android 5.1.1.

If you would like to customize your Yunique device, you can also do so by purchasing the back covers which are available in Serene White and Moonstone Grey colors. These covers along with the phone will take the cost of the package to Rs 5,499.
