Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium Smartphone, coming soon?

Sony announced the Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5 Premium at IFA recently. The two phones are poles apart with the Xperia Z5 Premium being the first 4K device with a screen size of 5.2 inches, while the Xperia Z5 Compact is a device with a 4.6 inch device with only 720 P resolution. While the internals are pretty identical, a 720p screen in 2015 is a little too outdated. The screen resolution was one of the places where Sony cut corners, but it has not lasted very long.

According to the latest reports from

Cnbeta, Sony will be bringing a special edition of the Xperia Z5 Compact called Xperia Z5 Compact Premium. As you can guess from the name, the device brings premium features to the compact form factor with a 1080 P display as well as 4 GB of RAM as compared to the 2 GB that is seen on the current Z5 compact.

According to the same reports, the phone will be available in a special Hatsune Miku edition but will be an exclusive for those in Japan to begin with. Other specifications of the phone, such as an Octa Core Snapdragon 810 SoC, 23 MP rear camera and inclusion of the fingerprint scanner are expected to remain the same as the Z5 Compact. The device will continue to bring support for LTE like the original Z5 Compact. There is no news about the pricing of the device or tentative availability in terms of dates yet.
