Google announces Android Marshmallow as version 6.0

Google has finally, officially unveiled the official name for its new operating system: Android Marshmallow with the new OS versioned as 6.0! Alex Ruiz posted a picture of the statue at Building 43 (the Android building) at Google HQ in Mountain View.

Marshmallow was definitely among the most-speculated and wanted names for the next version of Android, and while the statue isn’t exactly creative, it is nothing if not direct.

Google also announced the new Preview 3 and final SDK for the newest flavour of Android. Presumably this latest release is pretty close to the final version that we will be having on new Nexus devices and on older devices via over-the-air updates later this year. You can get the newest preview SDK for Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, And Nexus Player. If you don’t mind waiting for some time, Google will most certainly be pushing the OTA for the new Preview within hours if not minutes.
