Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen Official Photos and Specifications Leaked

Motorola began sending invites in the run up to its event on 28 July, and at the same time pictures and specification of the 3rd Gen iteration of the smartphone have been leaked on an online retailers website (earlier leaked on Flipkart). The hugely successful Moto G created a storm in the Indian mid-range market which at the time was plagued by badly designed and poorly specced smartphones which would make anyone turn away from investing in a mid range smartphone, Motorola with the Moto G resurfaced as a prime player in the Indian market given its excellent specifications and promised OTA updates which were not a regular feature at the time.

As the momentum in the market has built up and several other manufacturers like Micromax and Xiaomi have caught up in the high value market, the Moto G 2nd Gen was still a decent stable offering but the bar for excellence has increased several notches and the particular mid range sector has become highly competitive and the general notion is those who rule this market rule the Indian market.

Coming back to the expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone, the Moto G 3rd Gen will feature a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 441ppi pixel density 2GB of RAM a promising 1.7GHz quad-core processor with  Android 5.0 Lollipop, with a rather disappointing 8GB of inbuilt storage it is expected to have expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 128GB) which will be in sync with the recent storage policies of the company; Micro-SIM support; 2070mAh battery which hasn’t changed much; measure 141.5 x 70.7 x 11mm, and weigh 149 grams. As of now, there is no word on the camera details of the handset while a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera is expected nothing is sure. The Camera grill also has seemingly revamped giving a classier look.

It looks like this smartphone is going to turn out just fine, but in this highly competitive market it needs to stand out to be a success. We wait for more details heading towards Motorola’s launch event, where it is expected to make its new push to capture more market share more clear.
