Huawei C199S Launched: Specifications and Price

The successor to the Huawei C199, Huawei C199S was launched on Feburary 3rd. The phone caught everyone’s eyes because of its metal-clad back. The phone is upgraded with a 64bit Snapdragon 615 processor (1.5Ghz 8-core). The updated phablet has eight Cortex-A53 cores, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with EMUI 3 on top. The storage is 16GB out of the box (12GB user-available) and there’s a microSD card slot.


The aluminum unibody of the phablet is 7.6mm thick and weighs 167g. Inside is a 3,000mAh battery. Huawei C199S has a 5.5″ IPS screen with 720p resolution and a Snapdragon 615 chipset. The phone has dual-SIM and LTE connectivity. The phone was released for China with no word about its sale in another region. The phone is currently available on Huawei’s China website Vmall for CNY 2299 (~₹22,600). Unlike Huawei C199, Huawei C199S will be available in gold color as well.

In December, the company had launched a phablet device, the Ascend GX1, in China at CNY 1,590 (~₹ 16,000). Upfront, the dual-SIM Ascend GX1 boasts of a 6-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. Other specifications of the Huawei Ascend GX1 include a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz; 1GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash; a 2-megapixel front-facing camera; 8GB internal storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), and a 3500mAh battery.
