10,000 Yureka smartphones sold out on Amazon in 3 seconds!

It’s not only Xiaomi smartphones that are getting sold out on Indian eCommerce websites in a few seconds. The Micromax YU Yureka device which was to go on sale today at 1400 IST on Amazon.in now appears to be listed as sold out, and the statistics point out to the fact that the product lasted for not more than 3 seconds. YU thanked the users and mentioned about the device getting out of stock in three seconds.

In addition to 10,000 devices being sold out in a jiffy, users who were trying to get their devices reported that Amazon showed some error page at 1400 IST as soon as they refreshed the page, while the lucky users who were able to add the device to their carts reported that the webpage crashed at the payment page. It seems like Amazon is not really prepared for flash sales, as Flipkart currently is.

For those who were not able to buy the device for which they’ve been waiting for about three weeks, YU announced their second sale which will begin at the same time on Amazon on 22 January 2015. The only part which can be questioned is the number of devices that will be available for sale. But after seeing the response from the first sale, it is expected from Yureka to boost the number to atleast thrice than what we saw today. On the specifications front, the device runs Cyanogen OS 11 and sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display. It is being backed with a 64 bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Yureka comes with a decent 13 megapixels rear camera, 5 megapixels front camera and a 2,500mAh battery. It will be interesting to see how the Indian customers choose between the upcoming 4G enabled Lenovo A6000 and Yu Yureka.
