5 Things to expect at Apple’s 2014 Event: iPhone 6, iOS 8 and iWatch

In the recent days, there has been quite a lot buzz in the Digital World, after Apple announced that they’ll be hosting an event on September 9, 2014. It has been more than eight months since Apple manufactured any new hardware device, but this time we think that they will make it big. The expectations of the people all around the world are seeing new heights this time. There have been enormous number of concepts and visualizations about the highly anticipated devices, be it the iPhone 6, or the first ever iWatch.

4.7-inch iPhone 6

Expectation Score: 10 out of 10!

Dozens of rumours, tons of expectations, and one belief – iPhone 6. This time if there is one thing every person would expect from this event is the 4.7-inch iPhone 6. Going by the rumours, the new iPhone 6 would include a brand new design, featuring aluminium housing and rounded edges. Lots of verified sources state that the new iPhone 6 would be visually similar to the iPod 4th Generation.

The 4.7-inch sized display is predicted to be made of Sapphire Display, rather than Corning Gorilla Glass. The features that shall come bundled with 1GB of RAM, a new A8 processor, NFC, Touch ID and a bigger and better battery. Just like its predecessor, the iPhone 6 is expected to arrive in three colours – silver/white, space gray/black and gold. Another big feature that is going to surprise many would be the 128GB version.

5.5-inch iPhone 6

Expectation Score: 8 out of 10!

No one can actually tell if there would be the second variant of the original iPhone 6 or not. But there have been a lot of rumours, with verified sources that indicate there would be a mobile phone device that would measure 5.5-inch diagonally. In terms of design and specifications, the new 5.5-inch iPhone 6 would be quite similar to the 4.7-inch version. No one is hundred percent sure about this phone with the bigger display, but Apple has not only taken 3 quarters of a year for just a new generation iPhone, it has to be something big!

iOS 8

Expectation Score: 10 out of 10!

We’ve already seen the unveiling of the iOS 8 at this year’s WWDC, but the Developer Preview did not seem to be a complete operating system. Apple would have saved some spices for the device launch event, something that they would love to demonstrate on the all new iPhone 6!

Expectation Score: 6 out of 10!

The world has already witnessed the launch of many smart watches, which mainly include Android Wear. The companies that have come up with the Android Smartwatches are LG, Samsung and Motorola. Apple, obviously can’t stay out of this, at a point of time when people need smartwatches and there is a need of it. One thing which we can be quite sure of is that, it won’t sport rectangular dial, rather it would be quite stylish, with multiple colour options.

Rumours of smartwatches can be dated back to 2010s, but this time there has to be one! However, it is not certain that Apple would be announcing the watch at this event, but we expect some kind of news related to the same – which might give developers time to work on their applications and ideas.

Mobile Payments

Expectation Score: 9 out of 10!

Apple’s previously not-so-successful attempt to make mobile payments easier and quicker, will probably find a platform at this event. With NFC-based mobile payments, there would some additional security and some extra bit of trust. What add to the certainty of this rumour is the partnership of Apple with three big leading companies in the financial sector. So you never know what might be going behind the scenes.

What’s Going on with Beats?

Expectation Score: 9 out of 10!

Apple acquired Beat Inc. on May 28, 2014. Three months is not enough to come up with something special and something that can change the existing way of listening to songs. If nothing related to hardware, we surely expect some news from what’s going on with both of the companies, after the acquisition. And yes, we surely expect Dr. Dre’s presence on the stage.

Do let us know what all do you expect from this year’s Apple’s Event through the comments! We shall be live blogging the event for our readers, so stay tuned.
