Canon EOS 1100D – An affordable camera for enthusiast

I was thinking of buying an inexpensive camera with multiple features that would help me with various types of photography. I truly found the task very daunting, but definitely helpful for my search. Well, this was my find, the Canon EOS 1100D, which is very affordable and futuristic as well. Even If you have not used a SLR camera before, you will find this model quite comfortable to use. I liked it for the price and the features that you get at this price tag. Canon EOS 1100D has decent resolution and is good at its job. Built with 12.20 megapixels, this camera gives you the opportunity to relive those enjoyable moments all over again.

What you would find inside and out:

The EOS 1100D has Digic IV image processor that can record HD movies with high resolution. The camera is good or I must say I was very much satisfied with the brightness and the clarity of the images. You should also note that the price is not very high, so expect things that fall into that category. The aspect ratio is 3:2, which is great. The camera has been provided with 2.7 inch TFT LCD monitor that comes with a resolution of 230000 dots. The screen is quite sufficient and you can get a good view of the moment you want to capture.

The body is neat and built with sturdiness. The weight is also not too much and comes to around 450 grams. The camera will give you a great grip so that you have a secure hold. The buttons are placed comfortably and you do not face any problems here. With a Pentamirror viewfinder you can enjoy 95 percent view field. You might think that this is small, but this is what you get in this class. However, you do get exposure along with white balance bracketing.

Know how it performance:

Most of you are more interested in performance rather than the looks. Yes, the Canon performs excellently and gives you the opportunity to use and enhance your skills with various lenses. The camera is compatible with lenses like Canon EF and Canon EF-S. Besides, it comes equipped with EF S 18 – 55 IS II lens. The focal length is 18 – 55 mm and 35 mm equivalent to 28 – 88 mm of focal length.

The image quality is accurate and provides good light conditions. You get natural looking images and there is not much tweaking either. You can of course adjust the white balance regarding the JPEG. As far noise control is concerned, you can say that it is pretty decent or a maximum of 6400.

Feature guide:

Talking about the video recording, it gives around 17 minutes on 1100D. Remember there is no manual control here and the adjustments are limited as well. What I found was the video performance was good only for beginners and nothing great if you are a pro.

Nevertheless, you also get the creative auto mode for controlling and also retaining automatic operation. The feature guide is also integrated to give you proper guide. My experience was great with the night portrait, close-up, and sports as I could get the right light and clarity. What’s more I can shoot from my car as there is an image stabilizer as well. You get 10 seconds to get into the frame which means you have to be real fast. The continuous shooting mode was satisfactory as it gives around 3 frames per second. The HDMI port is available so that you can enjoy everything you capture on the big screen.

To conclude I would say that for the first time DSLR users, it is a great choice, besides you get it cheap.
