The all new HTC Desire U comes with creative designing, fine details and good features. Value for money is guaranteed with this phone. The device is stylish and affords a good 4 inch screen which renders beautiful visuals and coloration. The device falls into the mid-range category and has some noble accessories, like the HTC travel charger to keep you energized over long travel, stereo earphones for boom and base, and your standard data cable. You also get your user guide as well as the fairly powerful Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery.

Unwrap your HTC Desire U device and be pleasantly surprised. You can choose between bold white, stark black and fun and youthful orange. All three colors look great on the device and complement its strong bodyline, and curves.

The hardware although mid-level amply supports and brings alive to full glory the Android Operating System on this HTC Desire U. The Android Operating System which runs this device is the version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which works seamlessly powered by a 1GHz processor. We did say mid-range device, and so the fact that the HTC Desire U has been given a 5 megapixel camera as its main and rear camera, seems fitting. The video recording on this is HD. You also get Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, and Wi-Fi hotspot for your data sharing needs. NFC is optional and the availability of which may vary from region to region. The micro USB version 2.0 and microSD card slot aid to expand your internal memory from 4 GB to 32 GB. This plus the 512 MB of RAM makes the device a capable one. Sensors include your accelerometer and proximity sensors.

Other standard features include the 3.5mm jack, Dual SIM wherein one is a Mini-SIM and there is also dual stand-by. Enjoy radio; GPS and java via Java MIDP emulator are amongst other key features on this device.

Although the display screen pans only 4.0 inches, being an HTC, this Desire U screen is acceptable. The display is a Super LCD with a capacitive touchscreen having a pixel resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and with 16 million colors. The pixel density is 233 ppi, which all in all is decent though not worth reveling over. The multi touch screen is intuitive and quick to the response. Enjoy all your media files and videos on this device, without being made to feel the lower concentration of pixels.

Being Super LCD, your colors are enhanced and more accurate, thus render more powerful imagery. This type of screen is preferred for its clarity and closeness to reality. The readability of the text is high, and there is a low amount of reflection. Visibility under the sun’s sharp rays is also good, since the screen brightness is requisitely high.

The screen on the HTC Desire U comprehends and responds to swipes and taps of the hand quite easily. Being capacitive the interfering distance on other screens is omitted leaving your commands to be more accurately received. The screen proves to be quite percipient as required of a touchscreen of this size.

Another great feature of this touch screen is that it is a multi-touch screen which means that it’s highly conducive for playing games, which require speedy reflexes and impulse moves. We aren’t exaggerating when we say we found the screen on this HTC Desire U to be particularly appealing and checked all our boxes leaving us satisfied with its overall performance.

The processor being a single core processor could evoke immediate criticism and complaints. Despite all presumptions, upon testing the device proves to be up to the task(s) at hand. The phone instantly executes commands, opens up applications and runs them smoothly, even while multiple applications are up and running. Switching between browsers and apps is also smooth and easy. There are no lags and no need for a system reboots whatsoever. The lack of dual and quad core is hardly felt and HTC has managed to make the single core efficient. Without sounding over optimistic though, it’s safe to say that processor intensive apps which demand higher power do not work as perfect as they would on a more powerful processor. These may be some reservations to look into when considering if this device is a good buy for you.

The Android experience on this device is all rounded and complete. The display makes the application operating and using fun and worthwhile. There are no setbacks where the functionality of theAndroid goes and the phone doesn’t disappoint in this regard. The huge collection of Android apps which is supported by a device which brings out the best of various User Interfaces is why we approve all the more of the HTC Desire U. Apps which require larger resolutions however won’t work as well on this device.

The 5 megapixel rear camera has an autofocus feature as well as an accompanying LED flash for high quality images. Don’t fear dimly lit environs wondering if your camera is capable of snapping color and detail rich snaps. The LED is powerful and bright, to light up your scenery and the camera produces good images, with a decent color reproduction, and clarity. With autofocus the quality of your images increases and you can get as much as 2592х1944 pixels. Also enjoy the video recorder and shoot fun moments to be easily shared with friends and family. Videos are shot inWVGA quality and you can also take advantage of geo-tagging features in order to bring about more balance to the images.

The Google Android market presents a huge collection of music and apps, which you can enjoy on your feature rich HTC Desire U. Music support by way of MP3/eAAC +/WMA/WAV and video support for videos of WMV player/MP4/H.263/H.264, add character to this phone. You also get document viewer and the near obsolete opera mini, as well as GPRS/EDGE. Enjoy social sites like Facebook, twitter, and more on your device. Google search, Gmail, maps, YouTube, calendar and Google talk give you the entire Google experience. The battery is a Li-Ion 1650 mAh which sustains long use, and gives you about 8 hours talk time on a single charge.

The design is a little over simple and short of overdone, and the result is a neat and attractive device. The small screen and low powered processor allows for sleek designing and form factor. Grab your HTC Desire U from retail stores and even online e-commerce stores.
