After Hyping it for Days, CREO Announces the Mark 1

News

If you have been surfing the internet in the past month or so, there is no way you would have missed out on looking at a CREO ad, in there somewhere. The India-based startup has been hyping their upcoming device, the CREO Mark 1 for a while now, promising you a new phone every month. What they want to convey is that the phone will be given an OTA update every month, which would, in turn, give your phone enhancements and software upgrades.

CREO-Mark-1

CREO has finally taken the wraps off the device today, which will be called the Mark 1. The smartphone comes with pretty interesting specifications including a 5.5-inch 2K display with a 2.5D glass on top with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powering the phone is a 1.95GHz clocked Helio X10 chipset. On the memory side, you get 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM as well as support for a memory card. There is a Hybrid SIM card slot thrown in there for good measure, though the phone only runs Android 5.1.1 out of the box.

On top of Android 5.1.1, you have Fuel OS which has some nifty add-ons like: Sense, Echo and Retriever. Sense feature is basically your quick access to notifications and other important things in the phone using gestures. Echo allows you to put your phone call to speaker by double tapping the power button, while Retriever sends you an E-Mail with SIM card details if a new SIM card is inserted in your phone.

The camera on the device is a 21 MP sensor, while the front-facing snapper is 8 MP. CREO claims that the phone comes with an Aircraft Grade Material as a build material. As promised, a new OTA update will be released on may 13th, which would bring features like a more intelligent Echo, background data manager, selfie screen flash as well as a smarter photo editor application. The phone will sell both on CREO’s website as well as Flipkart for a price of Rs 19,999.
