Its literally going to be raining smartphones in the month of February. We have already heard the confirmation from Samsung that the Next Galaxy, or the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are set to be announced on 21st of February and LG is set to steal some thunder from it. LG has issued the media an invite for an event in Barcelona, where they plan to be announcing the device. The event will commence from 2 PM local time, which is about 6:30 PM for those of us in India.

The media invite features some toys, that can be assembled and de-assembled, which points towards the external components that are being rumored could be added for enhancing the feature set. One hardware innovation that is pretty much certain to come to the LG G5 is a secondary display on the top of the primary 5.3 inch Quad HD panel, a bit like what we have seen on the LG V10 recently. According to the leaks in the industry, the G5 will be powered by Snapdragon 820, making it one of the first devices to bear the flagship chipset.Keeping up with the tradition of the older LG G-series devices, the LG G5 will come with volume and power buttons on the rear along with an auto focus camera.

Keeping up with the tradition of the older LG G-series devices, the LG G5 will come with volume and power buttons on the rear along with an auto-focus camera. The phone is expected to come with a fingerprint scanner and a camera combination of 16 MP on the rear and 8 MP on the front. The internal memory is expected to be 32 GB with an expansion slot, while the battery will remain removable, just like the LG G4.

By all accounts, the G5 will adopt a more metallic build quality too and if we are to go by the rumored specs, the G5 looks like a topper.
