LG has announced the highly anticipated LG V10 early Thursday morning in Korea. The device has been rumored to launch for a while now as the true flagship form LG for the year 2015 (despite launching the LG G4 earlier), and finally was revealed yesterday. The global launch of the V10 is scheduled today in the United States in New York City, but it is expected that the only additional information that would be revealed would be the exclusive US carrier partnerships.

The USP of the V10 is without a doubt the dual display that the phone brings. Interestingly, the application of dual display by LG has been significantly different to the Galaxy S6 Edge or the Yota phone. Here the secondary display is basically just on top of the primary display and to the right of front facing speakers.

The main display has a resolution of 2560×1440 and is measuring 5.7 inches in size giving it a PPI of 513, while the secondary display measures 2.1 inches with a resolution of 1040×160. It is definitely an odd resolution for the display, though LG will without a doubt open the APIs to the developers to try and take advantage of the display. For now though, you will be able to use the display as an always on feature to display information or use it as a launchpad for the most commonly used apps. You would also be able to see heads up notifications, if you are using the application in a full screen immersive mode. Several add on features such as shooting modes can be pinned to the secondary display within the camera app.

Other than the display, the phone has a pretty impressive stainless steel body and comes with the Snapdragon 808 SoC. The memory on board is a cool 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM. LG V10 comes with a 16 MP rear camera with OIS as well as a 5 MP front facing camera. The battery on board is a 3,000 mAh which is a removable unit. It runs Android 5.1.1 out of the box with LG’s skin on top of it. There is support for only single SIM which supports LTE Cat 6. Thanks to the metal build and that large display, it is no surprise to see that the phone weighs around 192 grams. The LG V10 will be available in several color options including: Space Black, Luxe White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue and Opal Blue. It has been revealed that the phone will launch in Korea in October followed by the US, Latin America and Middle East.
