Nexus invite

It is expected that the new Nexus devices will be arriving on 29th of this month. For the first time since the inception of the Nexus line of phones, Google will be announcing two Nexus smartphones with two different OEM partners. The previous Nexus smartphone was built by Motorola and looks like Google was not too impressed with the outcome of the Nexus 6 and has decided to partner with LG and Huawei for this year’s Nexus phones.

Nexus 5X boxIf, as expected LG does make one of the Nexus phones, then it would be the third Nexus device that LG would be making, a feat achieved by no other OEM after the likes of Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. There have been enough leaked images and information of the device to confirm that the Nexus made by LG will be called the Nexus 5X while the Nexus made by Huawei will be called the Nexus 6P. This is confirmed by the retail packaging of the devices which was leaked on the internet early today. The package shows both the devices in 32 GB variants, however, it has been said that the larger Nexus, that is the Nexus 6 will come in a variant with higher internal memory too.

Nexus 6P BoxThe retail packaging also shows that the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will come in identical packaging though the 5X has a box that is sharper at the edges while that on the 6P is a more rounded box. Both the boxes have the Nexus branding and sort of an over jacket with the letters P and X on them. It is sad that only the front facing images of the boxes of the two devices have been leaked out and not the back as that would have pretty much confirmed the specifications of the device. Guess there is not other option than to wait for the confirmed specs then!
