After teasing its new phone last week, Yu, a Micromax subsidiary has finally unveiled its latest device, dubbed the Yu Yuphoria. This will be the company’s successor to its wildly successful Yu Yureka launched last year with the brand itself for the same price of Rs.6999. The Yu Yuphoria has been priced at Rs. 6,999 and, like the Yu Yureka, it will be exclusively available via Amazon India. The first flash sale of the Yu Yuphoria is scheduled for May 28 for which registrations begin starting 5pm IST Tuesday.

The major difference that you will notice with this phone is its redefined and relatively beautiful. The SmartPhone will be available in Buffed Steel and Champagne Gold. The device is designed by Yu and is assembled in India. Initial few batches will come from the overseas factories, but the rest will be from India. The beauty also includes the 67 percent screen to body ratio, as claimed by Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder and CEO, Yu. The liking of the new camera panel on the back of the phone is to the personal preference. It is backed by a 2230mAh battery, and weighs 143 grams. The smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1080 pixels resolution with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Yu Yuphoria comes with a metal body. Yu’s Co-founder and CEO Rahul Sharma revealed the metal stamping process for the phone and physical vapour deposition used for the multi-colour along with polishing and anti-fingerprint coating. The device promises better grip and a flagship feel.

Inside, you will find a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU, powering the all new CyanogenMod 12 based on Lollipop 5.0. The astonishing factor in the specifications was the 16 GB of inbuilt Storage. The high-end connectivity includes the 4G Dual-SIM, accelerometer, ambient, proximity, gyroscope, and e-compass. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 lens and LED flash. While also featuring a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone will be a major competitor to the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Lenovo A7000, also priced in the same price slot.
