iBall has launched the Slide i701, the company’s latest Windows 8.1 tablet. It has a 7-inch IPS screen and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor. Claimed as the ‘world’s most economical Windows tablet,’ will be available across leading retail stores and e-commerce portals from Thursday. It comes with free Microsoft Office license for one year and 1TB OneDrive cloud storage. No details about the display resolution and the processor model yet. The iBall Slide i701 is priced at Rs. 4,999, which makes it the cheapest Windows 8.1 tablet in the world currently.
The Slide i701 tablet sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash, and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Featuring a 3200mAh battery, the tablet also sports connectivity such as an HDMI port, USB with OTG functionality, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, as well as 3G via USB dongle. The 7-inch HD IPS display is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor. The inner parts include 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB with micro-SD slot. Windows 8.1 OS, upgradable to Windows 10 for free. The 2-megapixel rear camera and the VGA front-facing camera are unsatisfactory. All this is powered by a 3200mAh battery.
iBall notes that the Slide i701 will come with brand ambassador Kareena Kapoor’s autograph on the rear panel, a free HDMI cable worth Rs. 699, and three interchangeable protective covers worth Rs. 599. Besides this, the device itself might not be as attractive as you want it to be.
