Indian customers have always looked forward to Netflix in India. But, we have something really special and much better than Netflix in terms of the content offering, HOOQ. HOOQ, a joint venture between Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros. and is all set to offer over 15,000 international and local titles to its Indian customers. HOOQ is not only Asia’s first regional video-on-demand but will also allow unlimited online streaming access and an offline viewing options.

HOOQ aims to change the way people across Asia gain access to entertainment. Today, across developing markets, there is limited choice for quality entertainment that can be streamed directly to the screen of one’s choosing. HOOQ will be accessible to all customers in India for subscription through its website.

“Our ambition is to always bring the best experience with no compromises.  We’ve built our service knowing the constraints and infrastructure issues faced by customers every day.  We have designed our service specifically for the challenges of India and other countries like it.  HOOQ offers features to ensure you enjoy an uninterrupted viewing experience; including a custom setting for your quality preference, a bandwidth indicator to assess your internet connectivity and adaptive streaming to maximise available bandwidth,”said Peter Bithos, CEO, HOOQ.

HOOQ has partnered with various studio partners including Yash Raj Films, UTV, Disney, Reliance, Shemaroo etc. for providing bollywood and regional content. The ad-free service is priced at just Rs. 199 a month and users can pay for their subscriptions through their website. The subscription will enable users to watch and download (for offline) videos and TV series of their choice. Not only this, you can access the same account on upto 5 devices, with 2 of them being streaming at maximum simultaneously. So what are you waiting for guys? Let’s get HOOQ’d up!
