HTC Desire 816G (2015) Launched in India: Price and Specifications

HTC has launched a new version of the HTC Desire 816G handset in India, replacing its 1.3GHz quad-core processor with a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor. The HTC Desire 816G (2015) has been priced at Rs. 19,990, more than the last year’s variant that was launched at Rs. 18.990.

All other specifications remain the same between the two variants, HTC has not specified the Android version – the first generation ran on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The dual-SIM Desire 816G (2015) features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels), 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The Desire 816G (2015) features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a BSI sensor and flash, with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, 3.5mm jack, and GPS/ A-GPS. It support Nano SIM cards, weighs 158 grams, and measures 156.6 x 78.7 x 7.9mm.

Other specifications include accelerometer, proximity sensor, digital compass, and ambient light sensor, a 2600mAh battery expected to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time on 3G, and 460 hours of standby time. The company is also endorse the presence of its BlinkFeed home page feature, as well as dual-frontal speakers with BoomSound.

HTC recently launched another octa-core smartphone in India, the HTC Desire 526G+ Dual SIM. This will be the fourth HTC Desire this month. In a statement about the launch, HTC India, said, “The new offering under the HTC Desire series is our next step towards a power packed combination of beautiful design and flagship performance all backed by a powerful 1.7GHz octa-core processor. The HTC Desire 816G is the best buy amongst big screen devices, packing powerful performance and innovative design perfectly at a great price.”
