One Handed Keyboard by Apple: How to activate?

Apple, the Cupertino based technology magnate, has launched a new app called ‘One Handed Keyboard’. An app, that allows iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users to type with one hand, making it easier to handle the bigger screens.

Apple launched the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus last month at an event in Cupertino. The screen sizes of the new iPhones were larger than its predecessors, the iPhone 5 and 5S. This increase in screen size supposedly caused problems to the users while typing. Apple claims that iPhone users have got used to a specific size of the keyboard. And this is exactly what the new app, ‘One Handed Keyboard’ does. It reduces the size of the keyboard to the size it was in the previous iPhone models, i.e. you can reach all the letters with just your thumb, even on the bigger iPhone 6 Plus. However, the app does not provide an auto-correct library to the users, which means that whatever they type would be displayed as it is. The keyboard is still on its initial stage, offering only a smaller keyboard that dock to either side of the screen, with extra controls to adjust the theme or color of the keys.

The keyboard automatically switches between dark and light themes to match the user interface and also the color of the keys can be customized. The app costs $1.99, and after purchasing, you’ll need to head over to the iOS Settings app and follow the successive steps given below to activate the keyboard.

General >Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard > One-Handed Keyboard

If you’ve tried it, then let us know what you think about this keyboard. It is a perfect app for those who prefer a more one-handed use of the keyboard on their iPhone.
