Samsung is facing quite a large number of leaks of its upcoming phones, recently another leak has been on the web. This time, it’s all about its two new budget smartphones, Galaxy Core 2 and Galaxy pocket 2 which are expected to launch soon, though Samsung has not confirmed any dates for the launch. Both the smartphones were listed briefly by a Vietnamese online retailer named Mainguyen before being pulled down.
Galaxy Core 2 Duos has a 4.5-inch LCD capacitive touch screen display with 800×480 pixels resolution and 207 ppi pixel density. It has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 768 MB RAM and runs the latest Android KitKat right out-of-the-box. The smartphone comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded upto 32 GB via microSD. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash as well as a VGA front camera. for video calling. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, USB, WiFi, GPRS and EDGE. It runs on a 2000 mAh battery which should be enough to keep it powered up.
On the other hand, The Galaxy Pocket 2 is pretty small like its predecessor the Galaxy Pocket, with a 3.2-inch HVGA screen with 320×480 pixels resolution. It has a lower 1GHz processor as compared to Core 2, along with 512 MB RAM and this one also runs Android 4.4. The smartphone has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera, which makes it great for a everyday secondary smartphone. It has a 1200mAh battery. Connectivity options included are dual-SIM, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and GPRS. Though we are a little suspicious about the battery as it runs on a 1 GHz processor, although we don’t know yet whether its a single core or dual core.
The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Core smartphone launched last year, while the Galaxy Pocket 2 succeeds Galaxy Pocket announced in 2012. Do let us know your opinions about the two smartphones through the comments!
