Sony’s PS3 is still one of the good console gaming devices in the market. While Sony is releasing its PS4 to the public, it tried to update the previous gen PS3 too. But this update failed miserably locking the users out of their devices.

Sony recently pushed a new firmware to users of PS 3, and many of the users are reporting that this is locking their devices. Anyhow, many users are not experiencing this. The Playstation Community Forums are filled with 40+ pages of such reports.

Sony, later on, after knowing of this issue has rolled the firmware back to 4.41 which is bug-free. All PS3’s are now showing this as the latest firmware.

Sony has not yet released any public statement yet.
