Google ‘Babel’ might be real

Categorized News

We already have enough leaks and rumors to confirm the existence of Babel and more have come up. Android Police reported yesterday that the name has appeared in Gmail like this:

This looks real and probably is as reported by Android Police. The file matches the naming pattern and XML signature-like thing, but these things can be faked, but why would someone fake a Babel existence?

Moreover, some Babel related code was found in Android repo. It hits to Video Chat and ‘com.google.android.apps.babel‘ application. You can see that clearly in this screenshot:

All the official Google Android apps start with “com.google.android.apps” and so the app slug matches too. If the slug is correct (which probably is) then the app will be live on Android here at the time of announcement.
