An early build of Windows Blue with build number 9364 leaked on WinForum today. This day also marks the 57th birthday of Steve Ballmer, coincidentally. This build is leaked on several file sharing websites. There were many things what attracted us towards them, such as the smaller Live Tiles. The screenshots at the WinForum thread also shows the new personalization options with greater control.
Microsoft also added a 1/2 snap in view into Windows Blue, which is pretty good. This new OS is, again, too much optimized for Tablets than desktops and laptops. Microsoft also added the new Calculator and Alarm apps. As with a new feature into Snap-in view, developers will need to update their apps to support this visual design.
Also, Microsoft features such as the SkyDrive are now even more integrated into the OS. Microsoft also updated the Modern-UI Control Panel to help people avoid the traditional desktop control panel. Microsoft is also making changes to its Charms bar. The Devices Charm includes a new “Play” option, which looks similar to the existing ‘PlayTo’ options found in Windows 8.
As earlier rumored, the new Internet Explorer 11 is also found in Windows Blue. We still can’t confirm the improvements over IE 10. Windows Blue is expected to have a public-preview soon.
