Nokia announces the cheapest Windows Phone: Lumia 520

Today, at MWC 2013, Nokia announced its new smart-phones and a few feature phones too. In the smartphone section we had 2 Lumia devices namely Lumia 520 and Lumia 720.

Lumia 520 is a low-end device with Windows Phone 8. It features a 4″ WVGA LCD Display with 512MB of RAM, 8 GB onboard storage. Nokia this time also popped this device with a microSD card slot, making it a good smartphone. Nokia also gave the display a boost with its super sensitive touch support for gloves and finger nails. The Lumia 520 lacks a front facing camera but have a 5 MP rear camera. Nokia dint couple this smartphone with NFC and wireless charging, so no Wallet feature in Windows Phone 8.

Nokia wants to primarily launch this in Developing markets, but also has plans to release it in US and Europe at 139 Euros ($184). We are soon gonna see this device in India too, expecting a price of Rs 12,000.
